Project Summary RMB Enterprises aimed to implement a state-of-the-art Airfield Lightning System Installation and Integration project that was executed in 2016 with the primary objective of enhancing security, safety, and operational efficiency at Naval Air Station Turbat, Balochistan.

This contract was in collaboration with ADB Safegate, and the Navigational Aid Equipment was supplied through the partnership of Indra Navia to the Naval Forces of Pakistan. This project was successfully completed in 2019, in two major phases.

The first phase involved the provision of the Airfield lighting system, CAT 1 complete in all aspects. This phase was based upon a topographical survey and also included comprehensive assessments, the technical design of airfield lights, developing the shop drawings as per site conditions, the layout of the airfield light design as per shop drawings, civil works in accordance with the design, the installation of airfield ground lighting while adhering to the International Airfield Standards, air calibration of lights to ensure an accurate glide path for approaching aircraft, and ground calibration of airfield lights as per the given glide slope.

The second phase was based on the supply of Navigational Aid (NAVAID) equipment and site surveys of NAVAID equipment to determine the location, position, and calibration or equipment. Additionally, this phase encompassed the designing of NAVAID equipment position in the field, layout as per design, site survey, and civil works in accordance with the design, installation, and commissioning of complete NAVAID equipment while ensuring uninterrupted power supply for continuous operation systems and ground calibration of NAVAID, as well as Air Calibration of the complete system by the Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan. Lastly, the fully operational system was handed over to the user.

Conclusively, the airfield lighting system provision project was technically a crucial investment in ensuring the safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability of the airfield operations. Additionally, the project has demonstrated its essential contributions to the defense sector as well as the economic and development growth of the region. The successful completion of the Airfield Lightning System Installation and Integration project has transformed the remote area of Naval Air Station Turbat, Balochistan, into a leading, cutting-edge, and secure aviation hub for foreseeable commercial purposes by the Civil Aviation of Pakistan.
